Peak CEO recognised as one of the most influential people in data
By Jon Taylor on March 1, 2018Richard Potter, CEO of artificial intelligence firm Peak, has been named by DataIQ as one of the 100 most important and influential people in data-driven business.
In its fifth year, the DataIQ 100 is a nomination-generated list made up of practitioners working in great brand and end-user organisations (Data Titans), as well as those developing innovative solutions for business partners (Data Enablers.)
Richard was recognised by the judges for showing real leadership within Peak, having been instrumental in positioning the business as one of the ātop tech startups in the UKā and securing Ā£3.5 million worth of investment since co-founding the company in 2014. The pioneer was also praised for the roll out of Peakās commercial model and artificial intelligence service, which has revolutionised the IT and data analytics industries.

Taking Peak from 10 to over 50 staff in one year alone, and with a strategic plan in place to increase this to 100 in the next 12 months, Richard is committed to building a company that both employees and clients alike want to be a part of.
Discussing his position in the list, Richard Potter said:
āItās great to be named in DataIQās 100 influencers. Weāve worked extremely hard to grow the company to where we have in such a short space of time. To get to where weāve got to so far is really good and this award is great recognition for that, the work weāve done and the growing Peak brand. However, weāve got a long way to go before we deliver on our full potential!ā

The selection process was led by David Reed, knowledge and strategy director at DataIQ. He explained:
āEach year we look to identify and recognise the most influential, important and innovative practitioners in data-driven businesses in the UK. For 2018, we considered 475 nominations which have produced our strongest list to date.
āRichardās work at Peak is a great example of the forward-thinking analytics-led innovation that is transforming business, the economy and society. He is a proof of the strength of this yearās edition and we are delighted to include him.ā
This announcement follows a brace of recent award triumphs for Peak, including being named as a finalist in the Best Use of AI in Enterprise category at the IDG Techies Awards.
